It is the default face of the Material Design Specification, and available to everyone under an unrestrictive license, it has been adopted by more than 11M websites and has become the most popular family in the Google Fonts library. It is prominently positioned in the global design community, with Google using it on Android, in web apps, and for branded content at small sizes. Roboto became a flagship Google brand typeface in 2011, as the Android operating system UI type. This project was commissioned by Google, but is not an official Google project, and Google provides no support for it.
